Announcing 3.2.1.7!

Wednesday, June 11th, 2008

3.2.1.7 is a non-Critical release (much like 3.2.1 was [and 3.2.1.4, 3.2.1.5, and 3.2.1.6]) meaning that you don’t have to install it if you don’t want to. It is an optional install. But if you do, it will fix a few bugs that have been around since 2.8.9 and some bugs in the developer functions (they just improve the functions but nothing else).

  • Fixed some bugs with getBrowser() (specifically loadURI, goBack and goForward) and fixed some functions to be more dynamic (our history grabbers)
  • Fixed bug with back menu dropdown not clearing properly
  • Fixed history bug that might associate history to another tab if the user could click at the speed of light
  • Added FAQ entry about links that don’t work on first install
  • Updated it-IT locale

This version will be uploaded to AMO soon.

Announcing 3.2.1.6

Friday, May 30th, 2008

Yes, it’s that time again. A new version will rise. Behold, 3.2.1.6! 3.2.1.6 introduces some new fixes with the context menus. The fixes allows links to be launched correctly instead of launching the current page (less picky loading).

The mailto: bug is fixed, and the View Source entry is disabled when used on a link and now it’s translated.

In 3.2.1.6 Dev builds, getBrowser() has another new function that is very awesome and very helpful. This will be revealed later on.

3.2.1.6 also should fix a bug with Attachment Extractor.

GRRR!! Stupid encoding! Announcing 3.2.1.5

Saturday, May 24th, 2008

Not again!

sv-SE has been encoded incorrectly, causing ThunderBrowse not to function on Thunderbird with the language set to sv-SE (Swedish).

Instead of me making another ugly version number, I’m going to to add the fix in the next version, 3.2.1.5 (few fixes are added).

Here are the changes:

  • Added View Source context menu
  • Fixes sv-SE bug
  • Search box gains focus when Ctrl F is pressed
  • Fixes a bug with GET forms (this was added late in 3.2.1.4 but never mentioned anywhere)
  • Somewhat support for Spicebird (partially, in my tests with the recent Spicebird build, I couldn’t get any extensions to install)

I’m uploading this to AMO soon.

Announcing 3.2.1.4

Sunday, May 11th, 2008

I just sent this version out to the translators a few days ago. It contains a bunch of new things, a lot of them are great for people who use TBExtInt. One of the newest features is the GUI for whitelisting command line installs. It looks like this:

TBExtInt whitelist

This makes it easier then constantly having to open about:config and change a confusing pref.

As stated in my last post, 3.2.1.4 contains support for getBrowser(); with all the necessary functions remapped (however, you must use browsetothrufield to load Urls).

The new version also fixes find in document (Ctrl+F [it's missing in 3.2.1.3.1 as it didn't work with ThunderBrowse]), so now it works with ThunderBrowse. Hooray.

There is also a new option to turn off command line installs if you somehow feel it’s unnecessary.

More stuff for developers: getThunderBrowseVersion now produces a more reliable version number, and functions from tbbuttoncommands.js have changed (see dev page).

History and POST forms now actually work. Before it would not capture the page that sent the POST request, now it does.

One more cool feature:

ThunderBrowse Bottom bar

You can now have the urlbar at the bottom of the browser rather than the top (when 3.2.1.4 releases, open about:config and change extensions.tbrowse.placeBottom to true).

Note:

Please support ThunderBrowse development by purchasing something off of the Amazon.com list, link to such list can be found on the sidebar to the right.

Announced and Uploaded 3.2.1.3.1

Friday, May 2nd, 2008

Yes, this is getting really annoying. Somehow, there is always the one bug that manages to escape my grasp. This isn’t my fault, or for anyone’s for all I know. It just happened.

Sorry for those affected (German users), one of the language files was improperly encoded as a Windows encoding (should have been UTF-8). Hopefully you aren’t completely mad, I’m not exactly sure at what point the file changed encoding, it just did.

So 3.2.1.3.1 (what an ugly version number) has been uploaded to AMO and contains the proper locale. Sorry for any inconvenience.
