And here is the announcement for our when we hit our first milestone in Summer of Funding! This feature will be developed and a beta will release when the first $200 dollar milestone is hit.
The first milestone will implement TB3 Tabs!
Many users have asked me for this feature, and I’ve long said that it’s a total maybe. I’m not super fond of TB3 tabs, but I’d be happy to add such a feature. I’ve done some research and it’s totally possible for ThunderBrowse to use the native Thunderbird 3 tabs. However, adding the feature in would require a lot of work.
Here’s what implementing Thunderbird 3 tabs would change:
- Build a dual tabs system that would allow users to choose which tab system they want.
- Add an option to allow users to choose what tab system they want.
- Require a rewrite of most parts of ThunderBrowse in order to support such a system.
- Do a couple of tricky tricks to make sure the tab system is working properly.
But in order to add this, I’d need a lot of time because this will require a semi/major rewrite of a lot of ThunderBrowse’s core functions.
As I stated before, I really don’t have time to work on ThunderBrowse as I am working towards paying for college. So please, help me out by donating to the ThunderBrowse Project. Thank you.
Optionally, if you are a company or an organization who needs an addon developer, please contact GameSpotting! Networks. I work really quick (and if you don’t believe me, check out the feedback I’ve gotten on past projects), produce great results and I have good rates.
Thanks so much!
